 On the following dates the sessions will run at the QUIC:

All are welcome at either or both sessions - you are not required to attend every session. Students with spouses and children are welcome.

You’ll gain a clear understanding of the entire process, from preparing the right documentation to navigating IRCC procedures with confidence. We’ll also cover common challenges and how to address them, including application refusals, reapplication strategies, late approvals, and deferral options. Whether you’re applying for the first time or need guidance on next steps, this session is designed to provide practical insights and support every step of the way.

ISAs provide confidential advising, including immigration and cultural advice, guidance, and information to assist in your transition to studying at Queen’s and living in Kingston. We specialize in supporting international students, new Canadians, permanent residents, and their families. We can assist with the following, and more: 

  • Learning to navigate the local and academic cultures of Kingston and Queen’s
  • Feelings of homesickness, loneliness, and isolation
  • Understanding and accessing health services

ISAs are Regulated International Student Immigration Advisors (RISIA) that can provide you with information on immigration regulations as they relate to your studies in Canada, including: 

  • Study permits 
  • Eligibility to work on or off campus 
  • Visitor visas
  • Spousal work permits 
  • Pathways to permanent residency
