Get to Know QUIC

The Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC) is a support service for all members of the Queen’s community that promotes an internationally informed and cross-culturally sensitive learning environment. QUIC provides transition services that lead to a successful student experience.

QUIC programs and services support:

  • The wellbeing, academic success, and personal development of international members of the Queen’s community and their families
  • The academic and personal development of Queen’s students, staff, and faculty interested in education abroad
  • The internationalization of the campus by working with university departments, offices, groups, and individuals to enhance and diversify the international learning environment at Queen’s, through educational and training activities

Along with Student Affairs and campus partners, QUIC is committed to fostering greater Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in campus communities.

Meet our Team

Director

Sultan Almajil, MA, RISIA (Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor), he/him/his

Sultan presents the concerns of QUIC and of international students to Queen’s administration. As the University Health Insurance Plan Administrator, he works with other departments to administer UHIP on campus. At QUIC, Sultan works with the team to provide a broad range of support services, and coordinates QUIC projects, fundraising, and information systems.

International Student Advisor

Amanda Gray, RCIC (Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant), she/her/hers

Amanda works in programming for international students, including orientation. She is also licensed as an International Student Immigration Advisor.

International Student Advisor

Arthur Chen, RISIA (Regulated International Student Immigration Advisor), he/him/his

Arthur works in programming for international students, including orientation. He is licensed as an International Student Immigration Advisor, and is keen to utilize his extensive advising experience to support international students here at Queen’s.

Intercultural Academic Support Coordinator

Lydia Skulstad, MA, she/her/hers

Lydia partners with Student Academic Success Services (SASS) to support international and multilingual students’ academic transition and skill development at Queen’s. Check out our one-on-one appointments, workshops, and online resources!

International Training Coordinator

Lee Richard, MA-IIC, he/him/his

Lee coordinates the intercultural training that is offered to Queen’s University students through the Intercultural Awareness Certificate series and other programs.

Welcome/UHIP Support/Daily Operations

Mary WillockBA, she/her/hers

Mary oversees daily operations, including the recruitment and supervision of the front office student team. The front office directs students and visitors to services offered within the centre and other locations at the university. She also assists with UHIP, and supports the director and other QUIC staff. 

UHIP Administrator

Steacy Tibbuttshe/her/hers

Steacy coordinates the University Health Insurance Plan (UHIP) for Queen’s students. Steacy also manages the centre’s financial accounts and supports the administration work of the QUIC director.

Coordinator, Programs and Communications

Hanna Bathurst, MEd’09 (Queen’s), she/her/hers 

Hanna coordinates the English Conversation Program (ECP) and oversees the recruitment and training of QUIC volunteers, and is the coordinator for the QUIC World Link peer program. To further engage students and to promote the centre, she works in communications, social media, and events.
