The Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC) is a support service for all members of the Queen’s community that promotes an internationally informed and cross-culturally sensitive learning environment. QUIC provides transition services that lead to a successful student experience.

QUIC programs and services support:

  • The wellbeing, academic success, and personal development of international members of the Queen’s community and their families
  • The academic and personal development of Queen’s students, staff, and faculty interested in education abroad
  • The internationalization of the campus by working with university departments, offices, groups, and individuals to enhance and diversify the international learning environment at Queen’s, through educational and training activities

Along with Student Affairs and campus partners, QUIC is committed to fostering greater Equity, Diversity and Inclusion in campus communities.

Meet our Team

Director

Sultan Almajil (he/him) MA, RISIA (S702145)

Sultan Almajil is the Director of the Queen's University International Centre. With a Master’s in Leadership and over 20 years of experience in higher education, Sultan is dedicated to enhancing the experiences of international students. He oversees a dynamic team that provides comprehensive support services, including international student advising, career support, and cultural programs.

Manager, International Student Advising Services

Lydia Skulstad (She/her) 

Lydia leads efforts to enhance the coordination and delivery of holistic international student advising. She works closely with advisors, staff, and partners across the university to support a more consistent and connected experience for international students.

International Student Advisor

Rasha Fahim (she/her), RCIC, MEd

Rasha is an International Student Advisor at the Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC). As a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC), she supports international students in navigating the complexities of studying and living in Canada. With a strong commitment to student success and well-being, Rasha provides personalized guidance on study permits, work eligibility, and pathways to permanent residency. She also collaborates with campus partners to enhance the international student experience, contributing to a vibrant and inclusive campus community.

International Student Advisor

Arthur Chen (he/him), RISIA (S701177)

Arthur Chen works on programming for international students, including orientation, as a licensed International Student Immigration Advisor. He brings extensive advising experience to support international students at Queen’s, helping them navigate their academic and immigration journeys

International Training Coordinator

Lee Richard (he/him), MA-IIC

Lee coordinates the intercultural training that is offered to Queen’s University students through the Intercultural Awareness Certificate series and other programs. Lee also oversees the Intercultural Wellness Leaders program - providing support for international and second generation students. 

International Student Career Advisor

Ayushmaan Dureja (he/him)  


Ayush is a Career Educator and Coach (International Students) who works with both the Career Services and QUIC offices to support students in exploring their skills, talents, further education, and career pathways. Ayush strives to create a welcoming, non-judgmental, and empathetic space where students feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their goals.

Intercultural Academic Support Coordinator

Sabrina Masud (She/Her), PhD

Sabrina works with QUIC and SASS to support International Students in their academic success and intercultural awareness. Her role involves finding ways to amplify International Student voices through conducting research, facilitating workshops, and creating pathways for success in collaboration with the campus community. 

Office Coordinator

Sumia Bushra (she/her), BSc

Sumia is the office coordinator of the QUIC, oversees daily operation and maintenance of the QUIC space. Her role involved recruitment, supervision and execute the pay roll for the front office student team. The front office directs students and visitors to services offered within the center and other locations at the university. She is QUIC staff’s timekeeper and works as an IT rep. She manages the departmental purchasing and maintains the QUIC inventory. Additionally, she coordinates space booking requests for events including QUIC, other department or student’s clubs. She also provides administrative support for the QUIC director and other QUIC staff. 

Engagement Coordinator

Maya Aldis (she/her), BAH 

Maya is the engagement coordinator at the QUIC and oversees student engagement in QUIC events, services and space.She is also the main contact for QUIC communications, including social media, the website and the weekly QUIC newsletter. Maya is also the supervisor of the World Link student staff, who plan and coordinate social events, welcome week and bus trips for all international students to build community. She also oversees the english conversation program, the holiday host program, the QUIC photo contest and community soup lunches - feel free to reach out with any questions.
