Update on QUIC Services

Update on QUIC Services

The events of the past few days have been unprecedented, as we all adjust to the challenges of COVID19 and its impact around the world, I want to remind you that QUIC is committed to your health, safety and well-being.  Experts, medical professionals, national leaders, and our Principal have advised that all large social gatherings be canceled in an effort to slow the spread of Covid-19. With this in mind, QUIC will be following the advice of Public Health and as of Monday March 23rd at 2:00 pm the QUIC social spaces are no longer be accessible.

This is a difficult decision for us, as we pride ourselves in creating a social space and welcoming environment for everyone. However, this is also the safest decision to protect you and our community. All of our services remain available to you, plus some exciting new ones.

Earlier this week, QUIC launched online student advising sessions using Zoom. This is a dedicated time for an advisor to answer any questions related to immigration, travel, or health insurance. Our advisors can be easily reached using your laptop or phone. Please Install Zoom.us on your device, then go to https://zoom.us/j/925151345  and enter Meeting ID 925 151 345

These are unprecedented times at Queen’s, in our community, in Canada and around the world. The measures QUIC and many others are putting in place are a way to help contain the spread of COVID-19, while at the same time, supporting you.

Looking ahead, QUIC will continue to build online programs and continue to support you. We will explore how to utilize online tools and social media to create sessions that are engaging and informative. I invite you to share any ideas or thoughts you may have at quic@queensu.ca

Please refer to the Student Affairs COVID-19 website to see how you can access Student Affairs’ services.

Director, Queen’s University International Centre (QUIC)
