Scholarships

The IETP is pleased to be able to offer a limited number of scholarships to international education professionals in Canada to attend these courses. Scholarships cover the full course fee. Accommodation, travel and meals (those not included in the fee) are the responsibility of the participant or her/his institution. The IETP thanks guard.me for its support of the scholarship program.

IETP I: Advising & Programming for New Professionals in the Field of International Education - Working With Incoming International Students

Dates: May 13-15, 2016 in conjunction with the OAIE/CBIE regional conference at Durham College (Oshawa, ON)

This course is designed for those who are new to the field of international education and have been in their present positions for fewer than two years; they will work in an educational setting, in the area(s) of advising and/or programming for international students coming to their campuses. Dates: CANCELLED June 21-23, 2016 in conjunction with the Western/CBIE Regional Conference at the University of Regina (Regina, SK)

This course is designed for those who are new to the field of international education and have been in their present positions for fewer than two years; they will work in an educational setting, in the area(s) of advising and/or programming for domestic students seeking an educational experience abroad. IETP I: Building Intercultural Skills and Approaches for International Education

Dates: May 22-24, 2016 in conjunction with the Atlantic/CBIE Regional Conference at the University of New Brunswick (Fredericton, NB)

Participants in this course will gain a broad understanding of internationalization and the context in which it takes place; they will explore key concepts and terms related to intercultural competence; they will understand the value of the intercultural and international setting and appreciate the challenges and opportunities it offers. IETP II: Advanced Topics in International Education

Dates: November 11-13, 2016 in conjunction with the CBIE Annual Conference at the Westin Hotel (Ottawa, ON)

International educators work within many frameworks institutional, national, international, global, community, sustainable and strategic are among the many lens through which our work is viewed. This course will examine the relationships and interconnections inherent in international education and propose that adopting an integrated approach is not just key to the work of the international educator but truly the core.
