Extended hours from January 2 to 6, 2013
Thursday and Friday: 8:30 am to 9:00 pm;
Saturday and Sunday: 1:00 to 9:00 pm.
Staffed by students after 4:30pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and throughout the weekend, the Centre is available during these times as a place to relax, meet new friends, access e-mail, watch movies in the Centre’s Lounge, and you are encouraged to use our kitchen to prepare evening meals together.
All activities but the Conservation Area trip are free.

A short walking tour of campus to familiarize you with some of the services you may need to access during your time at Queen's
Learning to Love Winter Session

Get advice on staying happy and healthy during the winter. Topics will include dressing for the weather and keeping a healthy home and lifestyle.
Athletics and Recreation Centre Tour

Get a guided tour of Queen’s main athletic facilities. Meet at QUIC.

Have some hot choclolate and popcorn while enjoying a movie with other students. Come a little early to take the opportunity to meet other students arriving to start their time at Queen's.
SATURDAY, JANUARY 5, 2013
Trip to a local conservation area
12:30pm
Weather permitting, we will send a bus to a local nature preserve with forest paths for walking, cross-country skiing, or snow-shoeing. A pond is also available for skating. Ticket price does not include rental of skis, skates, or snow-shoes. Dress for the weather (though there is a building on-site). Ticket price does include bus and entry to the conservation area.

Hosted by QUIC’s World Link Student volunteers, be prepared to meet new people and to pick your brain for fun facts about the different cultures and countries around the world! Snacks will be served.

What are some of the immigration issues I should be aware of? What opportunities are open to me as an exchange student? Most importantly, what do I need to know to make the most of my time at Queen's?
The session will be facilitated by the International Student Advisor and guests.

International Graduate Student Orientation
QUIC and SGS
QUIC and the School of Graduate Studies (SGS) welcome new graduate students and provide an introduction to support services on campus. This will be followed by a short walking tour of campus ending at the QUIC where you can warm up with a warm drink.
Note: The SGPS peer advisors will continue your orientation on January 14 with a session called “Communication with your Supervisor”. See www.sgps.ca for more information.
