Chat Program

Language is an important way in which we communicate with each other, and is closely related to culture. Knowing another language can help us to learn about another culture, and learning about another culture is limited without knowledge of the language. Help share knowledge, language and culture with the Queen’s Community by participating in the Chat Program!

Chat is a language sharing program for all students. Wear your CHAT buttons to let everyone know that you speak a language, or that you want to practice, improve, or learn a language. Join us throughout the year for various events centering around language.

Volunteers needed for the 2013-2014 academic year to help organize events from start to finish, amongst other responsibilities. Apply through the World Link Volunteer Program.

Currently we offer buttons for the following languages:

Arabic, ASL, Bengali, Cantonese, Dutch, English, Farsi, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Innu-Aimun, Inuktitut, Irish Gaelic, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Mandarin, Mohawk, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Swahili, Ukranian, and Vietnamese
